Cruise Holidays in the Winter Months

The summer season by and large is the most popular time of year for family holidays, largely because the children are out of school.

Winter cruises provide a way to take a nice, relaxing cruise without so many children on board. They are also a perfect break from the cold, wet, dreary weather of winter.

Taking a winter cruise can break up the monotony of those boring winter days when you are often trapped inside. Wintertime cruises to warm weather climates offer a chance to soak up the sun at a better price than summertime cruises. The off-season for cruise lines is between September and December, particularly for Caribbean cruises. These cruise companies often offer lower prices during this period in order to sail with a full ship.

While September to December is the off-season and can provide you with some good cruise deals, remember that during the weeks around the Christmas holidays the cruise ships will be particularly crowded. The children are off for Christmas break and many families take this opportunity to celebrate the holidays at sea.

Hawaii Vacation Packages

Hawaii’s visitor numbers are continually improving and the volume of Hawaii vacation packages sold by travel agencies, airlines, hoteliers and destination marketing companies is growing.  Tourism, Hawaii’s number one industry, is leading Hawaii’s recovery out of the recession.

A recent survey done by Hospitality Advisors, LLC shows steady improvement in Hawaii’s tourism.  The company found statewide hotel occupancy averaged 75.7 percent in August 2010, a 6.3 percent increase over comparable period last year.

These numbers are also reflective of the growing confidence of airlines that serve the Hawaii market.  Hawaiian Airlines is expanding its routes both domestically and internationally, most recently adding a flight from Las Vegas to Maui as well as launching service from Japan and from South Korea within the next few months.  Alaska Airlines is expanding its routes to Hawaii; while Allegiant Air will be launching service to Hawaii from smaller cites on the US mainland, starting in 2011.

What to Do in Hawaii on Your Honeymoon

When a couple finally makes the choice to look into Honeymoons in Hawaii, the first question asked is usually: “What are we going to do?”  That may seem like an unlikely question for couples going to Hawaii, I mean, it’s Hawaii!  It is so exotic and tropical that there should be endless opportunities there.  However, once you start to think about it, you realize that you are not so sure about all that Hawaii has to offer.

Experiencing the beautiful nature in Hawaii is definitely a must for Honeymoons in Hawaii.  Take a helicopter tour over Kauai or visit the Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island.  An obvious option that most people generally do day to day is to relax on the beaches of Hawaii.  However, when you do this, don’t just spend every day on the same beach.  Every beach is a little different in its own way and should be appreciated for the beautiful natural thing that it is.  Snorkeling in Hawaii is always a must.  Rather than murky waters like most rivers and lakes in the United States, Hawaii has some of the clearest waters you could find to snorkel in.  The marine life there is also stunning to get up close and personal with as you swim around.  Many couples enjoy athletic events and playing golf in Hawaii is something that a couple will always remember.

While enjoying your Hawaii Beach Wedding take time to appreciate the history and culture of Hawaii together.  Going to a traditional luau is definitely an experience you will never forget.  Learning how traditional Hawaiian people perform this ceremony is interesting and a blast at the same time.  Dancing, great food, and cultural activities are all part of a fantastic evening.  As more of a historical adventure you two can embark on, you should take an afternoon to head to Pearl Harbor.  Seeing that historical site is something that every person should see at some point in their life.  Pearl Harbor to many people is just a piece of history that they can’t find a way to relate to.  However, when you are up close to the ships and the memorials, it is very real.  Whether you are experiencing tradition, history, or the nature of Hawaii, having your honeymoon in this beautiful state is something you will never regret doing.
